Starting With Nori
Nori was recently taken in by a local animal rescue shelter.
When Nori first arrived, they were cautious around both people and the new space. The shelter team shared that Nori would not go to food right away or approach people on their own, usually waiting until the room became quiet before slowly walking over to eat.
This is common in shelter work. Many newly rescued animals need time to rebuild trust with people.

For Nori, rescue was only the beginning. What comes next is steady food, basic care, a clean environment, and enough time to wait for the right adoption opportunity.
This is why Luminipet decided to launch its Rescue Pledge.
Luminipet Captures More Than How a Pet Looks
Luminipet is a Hong Kong-based pet art brand creating handcrafted custom pet portraits.
Customers often send us many photos: front-facing shots, sleepy moments, fresh-from-the-bath pictures, and sometimes blurry everyday snapshots that mean more than a polished portrait. Because what makes a pet unforgettable is not always its most perfect angle. It is often the tiny detail only its person would notice.
A dog may always tilt its head a little when listening. A cat may look distant, yet quietly move its tail closer. An older pet may no longer have the same bright eyes it had as a puppy or kitten, but still lifts its head at the sound of its person’s voice.
These are the details a standard template can’t truly capture.
That is why Luminipet is not about mass-made décor or simply turning a photo into a shape. Through handcraft, we aim to preserve the parts of a pet that its owner would recognize immediately: the expression, the markings, the ears, the posture, and that unmistakable feeling of “that’s my pet.”
And because we work with stories of deeply loved pets every day, we cannot ignore the animals who are still waiting for that kind of love.
They may not have a home yet. They may not have a phone full of photos taken by someone who adores them. But they still have names, personalities, and the chance to become someone’s family.
Our 2026 Rescue Pledge

In 2026, Luminipet is launching our Rescue Pledge.
Our goal is to help provide 10,000 meals and essential care supplies for animal rescue shelters in Hong Kong through Luminipet orders.
With every completed order, Luminipet sets aside a portion of the purchase to support daily shelter care. That support may go toward a meal, cleaning supplies, basic care items, or other everyday essentials shelters rely on.
This is not a short-term campaign, and it is not here just to make a brand page sound better.
For shelters, the hardest part is often the cost that returns every single day. Animals need food. Spaces need to stay clean. New arrivals need to be monitored. Rescued animals need continued care until they find the right home.
Luminipet aims to weave this support into the long-term foundation of our brand.
Why Every Luminipet Portrait Is Made by Hand
Our handcrafted process and our Rescue Pledge are not two separate ideas.
They come from the same belief: every animal deserves to be treated with care.
When we create a Luminipet portrait, we begin by studying the photos provided by the customer. We look at the pet’s face shape, eyes, ears, coat color, markings, and overall expression. Only after the design direction is confirmed do we move into handcrafting.
Each piece goes through hand shaping, detail refining, hand coloring, and final adjustment. The coat is not painted as one flat color, and the eyes are not copied from a fixed template. We return to the photos again and again to capture the details that make the pet recognizable—so the finished piece feels less like “a dog” or “a cat,” and more like your dog or your cat.
Luminipet also offers different mineral blessing bases, such as lapis lazuli, turquoise, malachite, and obsidian. Each mineral carries a different meaning, from companionship and courage to protection, wisdom, or good fortune. This makes every portrait feel not only like a keepsake, but also like a thoughtful gift with personal meaning.
Because each piece is made by hand, every portrait carries its own subtle texture, layers, and brushwork. We do not see these differences as flaws. They are exactly what separates handcrafted custom work from mass production.

One Portrait, Two Pet Stories
Many customers choose Luminipet because they want to create something special for the pet they love.
Some order a portrait as a birthday gift. Some create one in memory of a pet who has passed. Others simply want to turn the little companion beside them every day into a piece they can keep for years.
Now, that portrait can also become part of another story.
It begins with one beloved pet, and it helps bring real care to another animal still waiting for a home.
It will not solve animal rescue overnight. But for shelters, every meal, every cleaning supply, and every basic care item becomes part of the work that keeps animals safe today. These are not slogans. They are practical pieces of care.
As the pledge continues, Luminipet will keep sharing updates so customers can see how their orders are taking part.
Our hope is that a handcrafted pet portrait can do more than preserve the image of a loved pet. It can also help more animals still waiting in shelters move a little closer to care, visibility, and eventually, a home.
